This Weekend: Spring into Arts & Crafts
This weekend, May 19th-20th, get out & enjoy the fabulous springtime weather at the annual Art & Craft Spring Festival at Deepwell’s Farm in St. James. Over 100 artists and craftsmen will be featured under at the 1845 Mansion. There will be live music, children’s activities, and plenty of food. Rain or shine.
This Spring: Get your Passport to Long Island Wineries
In Long Island, we’re lucky to have access to dozens of amazing vineyards. With the current Long Island Wine Country Spring Passport Promotion, May is the perfect time to set aside time to explore them. With 34 participating Winery Tasting Rooms, that’s a lot of delicious wine to taste!
How it works:
Obtain a Free Passport which entitles you to a complimentary tasting of a featured wine with the purchase of any in house tasting. Have your passport stamped by purchasing a minimum of one bottle of featured wine. Friday, November 4
The Farmers Markets are almost gone, so stop by before they close up for good. Today they are open in Hewlett and Glen Cove. For some nighttime fun, head over to Layla’s Dance and Drum Studio for a Salsa and Mambo Dance Class and Party. No experience or partner necessary; attend, learn some steps, and dance the night away! The fall weather is (hopefully) going to turn soon! This weekend, there are a bunch of happenings to get involved in and welcome in October!
All Weekend Long
The fall themed festivals and carnivals have begun! The Long Island Fall Festival in Heckscher Park in Huntington is here! Live music, food, vendors, contests, carnival, a beer and wine tent, and much more family fun will be there. There is also the Egyptian Festival in Woodbury, featuring food, movies, lectures, movies, crafts, raffles, prizes, a carnival, and more, including information about the history of the Egyptian culture. The Walt Whitman Mall in Huntington will also hold the Fine Art and Craft Show Expo all weekend long with paintings, sculptures, jewelry, lace, pottery, and other vendors selling homemade items. In Port Washington, the Greek Festival on the Harbor rides, games, music, food, vendors, and fun for the entire family, including fireworks on Saturday night.
